A National Servicemans Farewell to Cyprus

Sent in by
Dave Cranston
ex Royal Ulster Rifles

Yes I remember when hanging about,
waiting for the 'Stand to' shout.
Off we would go into the hills,
To try and get a few more 'Kills'

I've had my sorrows ,had my woes,
Now my service is at its close,
Although I'm glad my time is done
I can always say I had some fun,
I know the usual thing one hears,
from an N.S. ,man just done two years
But when I'm home I'll be proud to say
I served with the 'RIFLES' all the way

If you have a anecdote, funny story, limerick or song that you remember from your service, we would like to publish it.
Please send your stories or songs to James Paul
