During 41 Commando's tour of South Armagh in 1980 a WRNS 3rd Officer accompanied the unit as Assistant Adjutant. The 'call-sign' for such a position is 'Manhole'. The CO considered this name inappropriate for the said incumbent and so, re-christened her with the call-sign 'Swallow'.
