Dog handlers

On patrol one day somewhere in Selangaor, Malaya in probably 1953, I was a dog handler. The Monsoon was upon us with a vengance, I had been leading the patrol but was now back in my normal position when not leading the patrol. In the centre. We were coming down another one of the thousands of steep hills that make up Malaya. The rain had eased off, I slipped, 70lb pack two full water bottles, 50 rounds of -303 amunition, and my rifle, my parang, and arse over head I went about 50ft to the bottom passing other members of the platoon on the, and listening to their very rude remarks as I went by.
On stopping in a crumpled heap at the bottom, the platoon officer said to the sergeant, " I say sergeant, the dog handlers bloody keen isn"t he". No such thing has give the poor sod a hand up.
