This Roll of Honour is dedicated to the members of the British Armed Forces who died in Malaysia, Singapore and Borneo during the period of the Confrontation with Indonesia December 1962 - August 1966.
Many of those listed were not killed in action but all gave their lives in the service of their country. It is not intended to cause any distress to the families of those listed, only an attempt to remember their sacrifice.
They were all comrades we left behind.
The Services are not listed in any order of seniority, and I apologise for any inaccuracies in the details.
My thanks go to George Tullis, who has worked hard to compile the Malayan Roll of Honour, which gave me the idea for Borneo, and who referred me to an excellent website www.ukmilitarygraves.org.my, also to David Lee and Peter Down, ex-Royal Marines, who helped with details of Royal Marine casualties at Limbang and other locations.
I would also like to thank the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Enquiry Section who supplied comprehensive records for Kranji Military Cemetery within a few days of my request.
Please contact me if you wish to have any details changed or corrected.
