Comments	I did my training with 51.11 group at Honiton Devon, a clerical course at Gosport Hants, a short time at Ashford Middlesex, then I was shipped out on the Empire Trooper to Port Said. My memories are the scorching heat, living six to a tent - 3 R.E.M.E. with 3 Maurition troops, (we all finished up great friends,) the salt water showers, the pits covered by planks of wood with several holes cut out, each hole was separated with sacking, and that was were we had to do our daily's, as we tried to avoid the infestation of dung beatles. The scary guard duties, and the great friendships we made. A never to be forgotten experience.

Comments	HMS Diamond was part of the bombardment Force at Suez. Our ship was moored to two buoys in the mouth of the Canal paying a visit, some of our lads were ashore and got recalled to the ship, we went out to sea and anchored just before the trouble flared up And did as directed by our Government. The rest is History!

Comments	It has now been confirmed that the government has approved a medal for the Suez vets, and not before time, although we still have to wait for the Royal assent from the Queen, let us hope that this doesn't take too long as some of us are getting a bit long in the tooth.
