When the trouble started in earnest we moved from Arishia to Tel el Kebir by convoy, and came under fire at the last villiage before the open road to TEK. Needless to say I joined up in 53 so that if the same thing happened, I could fire back, ha ha, it did! Comments	I served in the CZ from 1951 to 1954. My colleagues who served in the Far East were given General Service medals for having a wonderful time in places like Singapore and Hong Kong. I have never understood why Egypt didn't warrant a campaign medal and a General Service Medal. I support your cause in rectifying these anomalies. Comments	I remember we lived in tents, and during one period of time (a 'flap') we were on guard one night and fire picket the next, so were never able to undress only to shower in the mornings (cold water) I signed on for an extra year on call up to get a trade and served in the Canal Zone from June 1953 until Jan 1955.

Comments	My father, Cpl. Ron Roberts (d. 1986) was stationed two years at Kasfareet with 107 Maintenance Squadron 1941-1942 before joining 3232 SCU. Have history of 3232 but not much of conditions or activities at Kasfareet. He was qualified instrument maker & apparently was servicing American/British fighter-bombers, P47s, Kittyhawks etc...salvaging for sperry bombsites ...later in Alexander-Malta-invasion of Sicily- Southern Italy etc. with servicing commandos.
