Information
Apart from the UN Korea and UNEF medals, there have been numerous awards to personnel who served in one or other of the UN Peace Keeping actions around the world since the end of the Second World War. The all purpose medal has been awarded with various distinctive ribbons for service in many of the worlds trouble spots. The only ones that apply to British Forces are as stated

UNFICYP, United Nations Force in Cyprus (1964-) 

UNIFIL, United Nations Interim Force Lebanon (1978-)

UNIMOZ, United Nations Operations in Mozambique (1992-)

UNPROFOR, United Nations Protection Force Bosnia (1992-)

UNPREDEP, United Nations Preventative Deployment in Yugoslavia

UNMIBH, United Nations Mission in Bosnia Herzegovina 

UNMIK, United Nations Mission Mission in Kosovo.

UNTAG, UN Transition assistance group,dates 1989/1990, criteria 90 days service in Namibia SWA. 

Description
A bronze medal, 1 3/8 inches in diameter, with a top view of the globe enclosed at sides and bottom by a wreath and the letters "UN" at the top of the medal. On the reverse side is the inscription "IN THE SERVICE OF PEACE". The United Nations Service Medal Korea is the same design, except the obverse does not include the letters "UN" and the medal has a hanger bar with the inscription "KOREA". On the reverse side of the United Nations Service Medal Korea is the inscription "FOR SERVICE IN DEFENCE OF THE PRINCIPLES OF THE CHARTER OF THE UNITED NATIONS".
