RI 25
A document found amongst discarded Argentine equipment at Goose Green. It seems to be a poem and text in praise of the infantry. RI 25 was the abbreviation for the Argentinian 25th Infantry Regiment. The back of the poster is blank except for a name, a signature and some unidentified letters.
Contributed by Barrie Lovell

This is the name and signature on the back of the RI 25 poster. The meaning of the letters AOR is not known.
Foot Note
Recently I was contacted by a Major Guillermo Lafferriere of the Argentine Army. He contacted me about these Argentine documents in my possession.
Major Lafferriere has been kind enough to fill in the details about the document, which is a poem about the Argentine Infantry, and is shown in the top two images on this page.
The signature, name and rank on the back of the document are those of Arnaldo Enrique Zabala, Aspirante Oficial de Reserve. Arnaldo Zabala was a member of C Company, 25th Infantry Regiment deployed at Goose Green. His rank of Aspirante Oficial de Reserve meant that he would become a Reserve Officer on completion of his military service. Arnaldo Zabala was killed in action during the fighting at Goose Green in 1982.
This information was provided by Major Guillermo Horacio Eduardo Lafferriere, who was also serving, as a 2nd Lieutenant, in the 25th Infantry Regiment during the Falklands War. I have offered to return the document to Arnaldo Zabala's family if they wish to have it as a momento, and Major Lafferriere is going to contact the Commanding Officer of the 25th Infantry Regiment and see if he can track down the family.
