At dawn on the 25th April 1982 the helicopters form the British Task Force sent to retake South Georgia located the Argentine Submarine Sante Fe. The proceeded to attack the submarine which was delivering supplies to the Argentine garrison on South Georgia. The Sante Fe was badly damaged and Captain Bicain limped into Grytviken harbor and he and his crew abandoned the sub. This Naval Ensign was later retrieved from the Santa Fe by a Member of M company Royal Marines. See Operation Paraquat
