 1st Bn Essex Regt  1953-1954 

The Regimental Card which I think was for officers only, but I managed to obtain   one somehow. There was a lot of "aquiring" goingon between the units.  The Essex Sgts mess  "lost" all their beer to the Sigs Platoon and  we had all  sorts of Australians, Kiwis and Yanks staying in our tents  until it was all gone! We did pay for it though. We found out that the Mess Sgt was going to have to pay for it himself, and that wasn't on, so we all dug deep to cover the cost.
