Proclamation
Malaya 1949

Contributed by George Tullis

This proclamation was issued in Perak, Malaya in early 1949 as it refers to bandits who later were known as C.Ts (Communist Terrorists)It was to deprive them of their rice supplies. This became very effective though there were many sympathisers in the Kampongs devised many ways to get the rice to the C.Ts. At one stage General Templer placed a very tight curfew on the Kampong of Tanjonmalin which appeared to be supporting the C.Ts and cut the rice ration from 5katis to 3katis each person, which obtained good results.
