D Company National Service Officer 1955-56
The were taken  taken in Negri Sembilan, either at Company HQ or in the jungle on platoon location. I  include  one of myself.  Titled I suppose:  "Ready to leave base for 2 weeks in the ulu"  1956, Kemayan rubber estate which was the D. Company base at that time.  (Note the rubber trees)  I was with  D Company as a National Service Officer from 1955-56. Royal Lincolnshire Regiment.

2 helicopters, one RAF and one Royal Navy.
Both taken while actively deployed on jungle troop movements.

The 3 platoon commanders of 'D' Company at company HQ in April '56.  The tallest on the left is Lt. Peter Surtees, who had just been awarded the MC for leading his platoon in an op that resulted in 3 kills and 2 seriously
wounded.

The S.S. Captain Hobson which transported me and countless others back to UK in May 1956. The boat was very slow and the trip from Singapore to Liverpool took 6 weeks.  There were 900 troops on this trip and 3 women (nurses)  Thank goodness the beer never ran out.
