RMFVR Shoulder Flashes

Contributed by By Angus Jones
Ex 42 Commando

I served with 42 Cdo RM 1956 to 1958 and later was in the RMFVR - Royal Marine Forces Volunteer Reserve (Now the RMR ?) The shoulder flashes were worn on the khaki battledress jacket by the Commando Wing. The photo which follows dates from late 1950s. There were also brass RMFVRs for the epaulettes of the blue uniforms.

The same khaki battledress jacket, but this time with no VR flashes. This was in 42Cdo about October 1956, at the M'Tarfa Barracks Malta, just prior to the assault on Port Said. Apart from the VR, the flashes were identical to the pic already shown.
