Contributed by Jack (Tex) Halliday ( ex cpl R.A.M.C.) We left Port Said on the troopship Dunera on the 22 December. Christmas and New Year were spent on the Dunera with parts of the West Yorkshire and Royal Scots Regiments. Needless to say, the Yorkies celebrated Christmas and the Scots celebrated New Year. This resulted in our New Year and Christmas being occupied stitching scalp wounds and other minor injuries caused by bottles and fists. |
