My father's name was Robert 'Pip' King, and he served in the RAF 1948 - 1956.  He was stationed in Malta 1949 - 1952, Suez (Fanara) Jan 1954 - Jan 1956, Cyprus (Akrotiri) 1956. Sadly, my father passed away in November 2004, and I'm currently compiling an album of all his old photographs, including those.  
 

On the first photo, he has written on the back 'In remembrance of voyage Southampton to Malta - Departed England 12th October 1949'.

On the second photo, my father is on the right, 18 years old.
