SS Strathmore Contributed by John Swan
The Strathmore is seen leaving Port Sudan, late December 1945. We were in Khartoum for Christmas. Sailed from Southampton with 8th Batt. Royal Warwicks, one Batt. South Staffs. Regiment(both from Crickhowell in South Wales) and fifty or so ATS. ATS disembarked at Port Said, us at Port Sudan and I believe the Staffs. went on to the far east. |
