NANIDES, Demetrious. (By early 1957, the Security Forces were winning their battle against Colonel Grivas's terrorists. In Larnaca, they captured this 17 year-old without a struggle. He had a reward of £5,000 on his head.)

NEOPHIDOU, Charalambous (He was shot dead by members of 1 Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders on 14.09.58 at the site of an Eoka ambush at Kathikas in Paphos district, which ended in a hand-to-hand battle between the soldiers and the terrorists. In the struggle, Pte D MORRISON lost his life.)

NEOPHYTES, Sophocles (He worked at Government House, Nicosia, where he tried to kill Field Marshal Sir John Harding by placing a bomb under the Governor's bed. The bomb failed to explode. It was discovered on the morning of 21 March 1956 by Cpl WELCH, KRRC, and destroyed in a controlled explosion by 2Lt M E BUCKLEY, 1 R Norfolks, who was made an MBE. A reward of £5,000 was placed on Neophytes's head. He first hid at Kykko, using DRAKOS's hide, and then moved to Mylikouri, where he hid with ANTONIADES. Colonel GRIVAS was furious that these hiding places had been compromised by Neophytes' arrival.

NICOLAOU Georgios
* NICALAOU, Georgios. (He died on 12.11.56. Eoka claims he died in confinement after being tortured by the security services.)

NICALAOU, Michali
NICALAOU, Michali (He was killed 21.09.58 in a traffic accident when he was driving a truck. Apart from transporting supplies to Eoka, he belonged to an hit and run group.)

NICOLAIDES, Andreas. (He was a student leader and active member of the Sampson assassination squad in Nicosia. When the security services had arrested many of the others, Nicolaides, with Yannakis STEFANIDES, 20, hid in the home of Gabriel A Gabrielides, a well to do Greek businessman, who entertained British friends, including police officers, at the well-stocked bar in the basement 'den' of his house near the center of the city after its clubs had closed at night.

NICOLAIDES, Herodotus Dr (This medical doctor was held in Camp K - the Kokkinotrimithia Detention Center - for three years as an Eoka suspect. On 09.01.59, his release was ordered by Governor FOOT. Nicolaides was never charged with any offenses.)

NICOLAIDES, Lambros. (He belonged to the Communist opposition to the RW-PEK Farmers Union, which placed him in a difficult situation.)

NICOLAIDES, Michalis. (The bomb-maker of the Eoka gang that operated within the Dhekelia Military Base. He worked as a storekeeper, contracted by the authorities.)

NICOLAIDES, N I. (He was one time mayor of Paphos during which the pro-EOKA Gymnasium was built to indoctrinate students.)

NICOLAOU, Costas. (Born Kaimakli in 1935, he belonged to a Hit-and-Run student group and earned a living as a timber merchant.)

NICOLAOU, Elizabeth ('On the whole, I found women more trustworthy and less talkative than men,' said GRIVAS. He used Limassol-based Miss Elizabeth NICOLAOU, a 22-year-old Sunday school teacher, to collect and distribute his correspondence, when Mrs Eli CHRISTODOULIDES and Mrs Maroulla PANAYIDES were not available.)

NICOLAOU, Ionas. (With his cousin Kyriakos KOLOKASIS, also aged 23, he was killed during the firelight that took place on 31.08.56 in Nicosia General Hospital in which Polycarpos GEORGHADJIS escaped.)

NICOLAOU Kyriacos
NIKOLAOU, Kyriakos. (Members of 1 R Leicesters, after a gun battle near Lysi on 10.02.57, captured him and five others. The seventh terrorist, Paraulos KOKKINOS, was shot dead. The survivors received long jail terms. The Leicester patrol was led by Cpl T W JAMES.) KOLOKASSI, Kyriakos and his cousin NICOLSOU, Ionas, both aged 23, killed in incidents with the security forces.

NICOLAOU, Stefos (Born 1940, Myrtou/Camlibel. He organized hit and run groups in Pitsilias and Katokopia areas.)

NIKITA Pavlos NIKITAS Pavlos

NIKITAS, Pavlos (He was a member of a mountain gang in the Troodos and accompanied GRIVAS on his escape through the cordons of British troops during Operation Lucky Alphonse. Earlier, on 23.09.55 he was one of those who broke out of Kyrenia Castle.)

NIKOS, Georgioy. (Little is known about this EOKA member, except that he was killed by the security forces and that he often hid in the home of ANDREAS and MARITSA KARAOLIS in Palaichori village. The house was next to the police station and was used by several fighters in the area, including GREGORIS AFXENTIOU
