Since we first started Britain's Small
Wars 3 years ago, one of our main aims was to try and preserve the history
of Britain's forgotten wars by publishing first hand accounts of the veterans
who fought and suffered in these conflicts.
We would now like to take this idea to the
next level by opening a Web Museum on Britain's Small Wars.
With the Web Museum we hope to collect as many artifacts from Britain's post-war military conflicts last century as we can before some of them are lost forever.
If you have such an item that would be well suited to be placed in the Web Museum, please contact us. We're interested in all sorts of items such as enemy material, never published before photos or more sentimental items such as Christmas cards or cartoons of the time. Perhaps you have some grenade fragments from Aden or some Argentine artifacts. We would very much like to display them in the Museum.
To contribute to the museum all you have to
do is take a picture of the item. We're not asking you to actually send
us the item; all we need to preserve it is a picture. Please contact our
Web Museum Curator, Peter Jordan by clicking HERE
All
submissions will be treated with the utmost confidentiality if need be.
Below are buttons that will link to the
various showcases in the Museum. Simply click on the button to view that
conflict's showcase. Please bear in mind that since the Museum just recently
opened some of the showcases are empty. These will be filled as and when
we receive the items to place in them. Until that time, the only ones that
are open are the ones with a yellow border on the button.
