Cover Notes
The decision to send 5 Infantry Brigade to the Falklands was fraught with tensions and difficulties, particularly as several of its units were already deployed with 3 Commando Brigade. Its pre-deployment training with unfamiliar units was rushed and its landing at San Carlos was disorganised. However, its commander, Brigadier Tony Wilson, was insistent that the Brigade would play its role to the full and although there was tragedy at Port Pleasant, the Scots Guards defeated an Argentine marine battalion in the most ferocious battle of the war on Tumbledown. This book is a fitting companion of Julian Thompson's No Picnic and the story of 3 Commando Brigade.
