Capt. Anthony Farra-Hockleyd D.S.O., M.C., enlisted under age as a regular soldier in the Gloucestershire Regiment. He was commissioned to the rank of sergeant in to the Parachute Regiment with whom he served in the Middle East during the last war as a platoon and company commander. He rejoined the Gloucestershire Regiment in 1948.
