A fully descriptive account
of highly successful Police/Military co-operation. It is a significant
recognition and tribute to the penetration by Police special Branch of
communist affairs in Malaya at that time, to say nothing of the opeational
intelligence which they gathered and passed to the army. After a
detailed introduction giving the background to the State of Emergencythe
re are six chapters cotaining detailed descriptions of endless days of
patrolling and ambushing relieved by sudden and usually brief clashes with
the enemy. One hundred and eleven previously unpublished photographs
and illustrations illustrate the soldiers life in and out of the jungle.
Maps show the operational areas of Kedah, Perlis and North Perak, of Kroh
and the Klian Intan border area and the Pasir Panjong Ulu. There are nine
pages of notes, mainly relating to the individuals mentioned in the text
and a detailed four page index.
